Your Rights Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

The United States Department of Transportation ensures full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by prohibiting discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color or national origin in the provisions of benefits and services resulting from federally assisted programs and activities.

Toward this end, the Village Shuttle and employees are responsible for carrying out the commitment to non-discrimination including the requirements of Title VI. This includes the following: 
  • To ensure that the level and quality of transportation services are provided to all; 
  • To promote full and fair participation in transportation decision making; 
  • To ensure meaningful access to Village Shuttle's
    programs and activities by persons with limited English proficiency; 
  • To identify and address, as appropriate, the human health, social, economic and environmental effects of Village Shuttle's programs and activities on all populations.

File a Complaint:
Any person who believes the Town of Snowmass Village has violated his / her Title VI protections should contact the Transportation Department by phone at 970-923-2543, by email, or by completing and mailing a Title VI Complaint Form

Limited English Proficient

The Town has also developed a policy to assist individuals who are Limited English Proficient (defined as an individual who does not speak English as their primary language, and has a limited ability to read, write, speak, or understand English.
